Stephen Ferrigno

My research program focuses on the evolutionary, developmental, and cultural origins of human thought. I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Lab Webpage: www.cognitiveoriginslab.psych.wisc.edu

I previously worked as a post-doctoral fellow in the Laboratory for Developmental Studies with Dr. Susan Carey at Harvard University. My post-doctoral work investigates the development of complex sequence representation and number acquisition in children.

I received my PhD from the department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Rochester with Dr. Jessica Cantlon. My dissertation focused on the evolutionary and developmental origins of number cognition, recursive sequencing, logic, and metacognition.
